sunny Sunday

I spent Sunday doing this. Cheers to summer weather!

In other, exciting news...... HomePlus has now chosen to stock two new delightful foods: Blue Cheese Dressing AND crackers that are basically Wheat Thins. You'd think I could be past excitement over events such as this, but I admit I am not. With only 4 months left, I choose to indulge in my favorite American foods rather than explore more Korean (read: meat-y) foods that I choose not to eat. That's right.

weekend perfection

Chelsea and I wandered around Seoul yesterday and were able to feast our eyes on bursting colors, lush trees, and creative people. Oh, so many people.

These two men caught our attention. They seemed to be doing some kind of performance art. The man on the right told me I was beautiful and wearing great colors. Made my day.

my city

This is a shot from a pedestrian bridge near Suwon Station. Lots of cars, noisy, and a a little hectic. I live about 15 minutes by bus from all of this bustle and could not be more thankful. Nonetheless, it's nice to see on a beautiful spring day.

I pass this car almost every day on my way to work. It stands out in a sea of grey, black, and white sedans or suv's. There's a mate which wasn't around today-same model, but sky blue. It's refreshing to see "different" things in Korea, a place where the mindset is to blend in. Each time I notice this car, I smile a little to myself and try to think up a good story about its owners. I can't imagine they would disappoint.

waiting for the bus

One of the most charming facets of Korea is seeing random old people in their traditional clothing. I spotted this man while waiting for the bus to my MRI consultation, which was a fail, by the by. The doctor didn't see anything in the MRI and gave me a prescription for some medicine. Here's hoping it helps. At least this man made me smile.

Cherry Blossom Aftermath

It rained all weekend. As in downpour rained. Many of the cherry blossoms decided it was time to let go and be free. Ha. Strangely representative of my life at the moment. Anyhow, here's my ride to work, with a dash of color on the ground from the aforementioned flowers.

treat myself

It's treat myself weekend. It started with......get ready for it.......NEW PENS! Oh, the things a teacher gets excited over.

And now I'm munching on this delightful treat. Nutella and banana TOAST.

It's raining this weekend, so I must be coping. I think we might even grab a little Indian food and go to a movie tonight. Maybe it should rain more often?

Good morning!

Justin and I got up today to go take pictures at Hwaseong Fortress. Unnnfortunately, there weren't very many blossoming trees where we went. So, we settled for taking shots of random trees, like this one, on our way home.

 Here he is, in action.

MRI success!

Good news! I had my second attempt at an MRI on my knee today and I didn't mess it up by coughing! Yeah! Next week, I'll hopefully have more information about how to get myself back on the hiking trails. It's the perfect weather for being on the mountain and it's killing me not to be out there. Oh well. That's life.

On my walk home, I saw these cute old ladies doing a little work at the park.

I also got to see this pretty magnolia blooming. Life is good!

Typical Lunch

I have one of these once or twice a week. It's called "toast" and is made of toasted bread, egg, cheese, and in my case, vegetables. Toast is tasty and ridiculously cheap. I pay about a dollar for mine.

In other news, I'm trying to do more of a "daily update with a picture" kind of thing. Fingers crossed on how well I keep it up!

Cherry Blossoms are Here!

My father informed me today that I've been slacking on the blog as of late. I know, I know. I made promises...and threw those promises away. I'm a terrible...blogger.

I'll leave you all with this--some of the first cherry blossoms of the season. I see these pretty ladies on my way to work. I think this week is peak season around here and I could not be more excited. I love me some cherry blossoms.

I do believe my long-lost lover, (aka) SPRING, has arrived. Look out, Korea. As soon as I get my knee fixed....I'm coming for you. Only 4 1/2 more months to check items off my bucket list, because goodness knows--I'm not likely to return. GET EXCITED!
