keeping it weekly...

Last week was pretty uneventful. The sun was out, which was nice, but Intensives started, so we had to be at work at 11 on Thursday and Friday. Not to mention, it was my first week of actually teaching, so that was a little stressful. My classes are okay. I'm teaching sliiiightly older kids now and I miss the little ones that I taught last year, but overall, things are good. As the new teacher, I have a lot of down time, which gets pretty tedious. I'm sure in the future when I have a full schedule, I'll be dreaming of these days, though. Better enjoy them while they last!

Last week was sunny, as I mentioned, but that kind of went away on Saturday and Sunday...so we're back to jangma, the rainy season stuff. To combat this, Justin and I (finally) went to see Harry Potter on Saturday. Wahoo! I love going to movies, especially when it's HP.

Here we are, in anticipation of the final movie... (sad!)

Sunday was cooking day! We made the best batch of hummus YET, thanks to Justin's idea of putting the garlic in with the roasting sesame seeds for the tahini. Deeelicious. Then, for dinner we made black bean burgers. It was a super easy recipe:

1/2 onion, diced
1 can black beans, well drained
1/2 cup flour (we didn't really use any, though)
2 slices bread, crumbled (we used hamburger buns)
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp seasoned salt
salt and pepper to taste
oil for frying

1. Sautee onions until soft, 3-5 minutes
2. In large bowl, mash beans until smooth. Add sauteed onions and the rest of the ingredients, except oil, adding flour a few tbsps at a time to combine. (Like I said, I barely put in any flour and the mixture stuck together quite well)
3. Form bean mixture into patties, approx. 1/2 inch thick and fry in a small amount of oil until slightly firm.

That's it! Put your favorite burger toppings on and enjoy! The best part of it all was that we found hamburger buns at HomePlus.

Justin enjoyed his with a double dose of cheese. I forgot to take a picture while I was eating mine, but luckily he had a 2nd helping...so I could snap these two photos with my ipod.

Aaand, that was the weekend. Pretty lazy, but I know I was tired after the long week. This week is only 4 days, as we have Fri-Tues off for a summer holiday. Busan, here we coooooooome!
